Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

you gave us the coast is clear signal to come on in. Didn’t they say it was OK for us to come in?”

With a sly grin Bill revealed, “ NO. When I asked the guards if we could go into the hospital and sing, pray, and minister they told me no way. They told me it would not be possible for us to do that. But instead of listening to them say ‘ NO ’ , I heard God say ‘ GO, GO, GO. ’ So, I looked back at y’all and motioned for you to let’s go.” I’ve heard it said that many times it is easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission. I will just say in this situation, it was good to obey God because He was bringing forth miracles for all to see and experience. And He was not through pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh as we were soon to find out what true revival in the dangerous streets of Port-au-Prince was all about. That night, we all gathered for prayer and had communion. We were still using stale hot dog buns and red Gatorade for our communion service. We knew time was short as we only had one more day of ministry left in Haiti before returning home to the USA. United Nations peacekeeping troops still patrolled the streets in military tanks trying desperately attempting to enforce Martial Law. American tourists were still getting kidnapped on the streets of Port-au Prince. The city was falling deeper into chaos, gunfire, lawlessness, and debauchery. In our minds, this backdrop was perfect to street preach the mighty power of Jesus Christ, Lord of Lords and Prince of Peace.
