Sing Into Your Storm

a 36 month lease – but since you are a new start-up company, I know he will definitely require a personal guarantee from you !” I began to sink in the same water as Peter! Whoah, wait a minute! A personal guarantee? You mean like signing a loan with a bank? That would place my home and car and other personal property as collateral against this commitment… What if this company doesn’t work out ? I would lose my home, car and everything else! I did not like where this is going… This was uncomfortable faith! Sure, I had worked up faith for the $4,000 (finally), but a 36 month guaranteed lease? Now how sure are you that you have “heard from God?” This ain’t cool man... Everything was on the line (including my faith). Did I truly hear the Lord’s voice? Again I figured the real acid test would be approaching my wife about the matter. Women are designed by God to be security based, with sharp intuitiveness. I shared with my wife the whole situation (or should I call it my faith crisis)? Once again I was totally and utterly amazed at my wife… so full of faith and confident that God was in this, that she was willing to risk all of her security in our home and property up against God’s character! (Well when you put it like that…) But still, I wish I had been as full of faith as my wife. I tried to start bargaining with God over the matter. “God can’t we just see if they will rent us the first 500 square feet inside the space for six months so we can get on our feet, develop our product and start gene rating some revenue?” As you might imagine, that wasn’t the Lord’s plan, and He let me know it … clearly!
