Sing Into Your Storm
“ Finally He came near Bethany, Lazarus sister Mary met Jesus; then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. And He said, “Where have you laid him ?” They said to Him, “Lord, come and see. Jesus wept . ” (John 11:32-35)
On one hand, Jesus knew the will of the Father, that this death was only temporary, yet on the other hand Jesus was so moved with compassion by the weeping of Mary and her companions that it caused Him to embrace their deep sorrow, as it caused Him to weep! When we come to the Lord in lamentation (in pain, sorrow, suffering, vexation of heart, soul and or body), the Lord may embrace our anguish and even weep with us, because He loves us and cares for us so much. But the Lord is intent on fulfilling the will of the Father and can only grant to us what the Father permits - even though He has joined us in our pain. I pray that you can grasp this about our God. He is so tender hearted towards us and all that we go through, with a heart longing to heal, deliver, encourage, strengthen, and miraculously provide – but He will not go beyond His will in the long run , since He knows what’s best for us at all times. God doesn’t always say yes…
Sometimes He says yes.
Sometimes He says no.
Sometimes He says wait.
