Sing Into Your Storm
As for Jehoshaphat, he stood in the assembly of his people at Jerusalem and led forth corporate intercession which caused the Spirit of the Lord to fall upon the peoples. The Spirit of prophecy brought forth the same mandate from the Lord:
“Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the L ORD to you: Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)
At that very moment what differentiated these two peoples and these two events was that King Jehoshaphat and all those people before him bowed on their faces before the Lord. “And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the L ORD , worshiping the L ORD .” (2 Chronicles 20:18) In faith and reverence toward their God, they chose to place their confidence in the Lord. They chose faith instead of fear! They surrendered their battle (storm) into the hands of God! This is exactly what the Lord would have anyone who is standing before a great storm do! Bow before the Lord and surrender your storms into the hands of God! Turn your gaze (focus) upon the loveliness of Jesus and release everything to Him. Let His peace flood you, it will surely come if you sincerely surrender all – unconditionally … I hear many people will say in the midst of their storms that they are facing a great trial, affliction or tragedy i.e. “I am facing cancer” or “I am facing foreclosure on my home etc.” My friend, the problem with that is that you are simply facing in the wrong direction!
