Sing Into Your Storm

Praise the L ORD , For His mercy endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 20:20, 21)

Talk about Singing into your Storm ! It was a great and mighty victory that day, for the Lord Himself routed the armies of Moab and Ammon and the other surrounding nations! The Lord so utterly confused their enemy that they ended up killing each other! The actual routing of their foes took place because of their obedience to follow God’s plan, and not their own! Their warfare was worship! “ Now when they began to sing and to praise , the L ORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. ” (2 Chronicles 20:22, 23) There is a stark contrast here between that of Jehosh aphat’s battle and the battle that the children of Israel incurred against the Egyptians at the Red Sea crossing. There were many similarities, so what was so different? In both battle storms, the people of God end up surrounded by their enemies who are bent on killing them. The potential for great fear to set in and completely inundate both camps was very real! The Lord’s plan in both battles was demonstrate His great love for Israel, (His special treasure), through His mighty power and compel them to learn how to fully trust Him, so that they might learn to worship Him with all of their hearts!
