Sing Into Your Storm
which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory…” (2 Corinthians 4:16-17)
That is true eternal perspective !
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose . ” (Romans 8:28)
But that does not mean that the hardships we face in this life are not without prolonged periods of pain and suffering from time-to-time, or even season-to-season. It has been said that “ Serenity is not the absence of conflict… it is the Presence of God! ” The Lord assured us in His Word that in this world, we would have tribulation. But He also promised us:
“…If we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him.” (2 Timothy 2:12)
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs— heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His Glory .” (Romans 8:17) The Apostle Paul understood this. He learned to embrace all hardships in his life, knowing there was Divine (Eternal) purpose in each and every event. Just look what he prayed:
“ That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings , being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:10-11)
Paul had a song in his heart. An eternal song and an eternal perspective . Regardless of what kind of storms he encountered – he learned to keep a heavenly perspective !
