Sing Into Your Storm

And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.” (Psalms 7:9-16)

A “shiggaion” is the perfect song to sing into your storm , when you are being attacked or slandered by another. Though you are lifting up this song unto the Lord – your very song passes right through the eye of the storm and unto the Lord Jesus Christ. But in your pursuit of becoming more and more Christ-like, it is important to maintain an open heart to receive greater truth and a willingness to learn things about yourself you might have not seen before… So let the Righteous Judge determine the situation but again, it is important that you become willing to accept any corrections or adjustments that might come forth from any possible culpability on your part! Your “shigaion” song should always close with: A beautiful representation of another “shiggaion” song is found in the Book of Habakkuk. In the second chapter, the prophet Habakkuk details the feeling of doom in the nation during the years he was living and recording the words of that book. Interestingly enough, as the prophet moves into the third chapter of the book, he records it as a “ s higionoth” which is the plural form of “shiggaion . ” This “ s higionoth” is a perfect psalmic song plea to lift up to the Lord in the midst of your storm. It recounts the awesome and powerful works of God throughout history, as well as the “ I will praise the L ORD according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the L ORD Most High.” (Psalms 7: 17)
