Sing Into Your Storm
My Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the L ORD , who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. ” (2 Samuel 22:1-4)
The next part of David’s song is his testimony . David testifies in the power of declaration as to the faithfulness of God, the conditions he found himself in and God’s response! You too have a testimony in your life where God has provided miraculously for you, healed you, delivered you, intervened, answered your prayers, and sent help from His Sanctuary etc. Like David, I encourage you just to begin to sing unto the Lord declaratively and historically about what He has already done for you – in the power of testimony! As you recount the goodness and faithfulness of your God it releases fresh faith from your heart! Don’t worry about being on key, or trying to line up the right melody, just begin singing like a psalm and the melody will come and take course!
“When the waves of death surrounded me, The floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the L ORD , And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry entered His ears. (2 Samuel 22:5-7)
When you choose to praise God in your storm and fully trust Him (in faith and obedience) you too can move Heaven on your behalf! You can rouse God from His Holy habitation! What He did for King David He can do for you, so lift up your song to the Lord and cry out for His mighty intervention! Stand in faith and see the Salvation of the Lord!
