Sing Into Your Storm
by King David something like a thousand years before the actual crucifixion of Christ with amazing detail:
“ I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; it has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots. ” (Psalms 22:14-18)
For our purpose here, we can gain much insight into how King David used the psalmic worship through the midst of his many storms, and how we too can employ the power of psalmic praise in our darkest hours! Fifty of the recorded 150 Psalms of the Bible are lamentations unto the Lord! In the midst of David’s heart pouring out his burden unto the Lord, practically all of those Psalms end with beautiful praise unto the Most High God! Here are roughly 40 lamentation Psalms recorded in the Bible. I encourage you to read them , with a worshipful heart… and as you do, whatever portions resonate with you concerning your present situation, use those Psalms to make personal declarations, prayers and praise unto the Lord with faith!
