Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise

one solid, undisputable fact remained for us… and that is that God is trustworthy… What I mean is – He is worthy of all of our trust, all of the time!” No matter what kind of storms you might be encountering right now, God has proven over and over in our lives that He is worthy of us placing them into His hands. Not only is He completely trustworthy at all times, He is also faithful to us at all times! God can make a way where there seems to be no way… If we will but only trust Him completely. He doesn’t promise to make the pain and sorrow go away instantly, but He imparts Grace to walk a sometimes hard road. In lamentation worship we have to overcome the anguish of our soul to press through to God. Many of the Psalms had been written with this in mind:

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Put your hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him!” (Psalms 42:5)

God will make a way … I am so thankful how the Lord prepared my heart for such grief and loss by leading me weeks beforehand to hear the story of Horatio Spafford’s “It Is Well With My Soul,” and Don Moen’s “God Will Make A Way.” Those two songs became the theme of our daughter’s funeral. Both songs were sung at her funeral service.

But what happened next is yet another testimony in the amazing unfolding of the lovingkindness of the Lord!
