Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise
there were numerous first responder vehicles of every kind there and a crowd of over a hundred people standing by in a swarm. My wife arrived minutes later. One of the EMT’S told us the babysitter had laid her down for a nap and upon checking on her later, discovered she was not breathing. They had put her on a ventilator, but they told us that the machine was doing all of the breathing at that point. I went boldly before the Throne of Grace in a time of need to plead with my Lord and Savior to spare her life! I knew I had the faith to see a miracle happen that very moment to see the Lord raise her back up to life! We waited and waited, while praying non-stop…After about 45 minutes it felt practically unbearable. I popped my head into the front cab of the emergency EMT truck. I saw 4 or 5 EMT’S working on her. I recognized the lead EMT of the group trying to resuscitate her – he attended our church. I didn’t say a word so as not to distract them – but he looked up at me, knowing what a crying and desperate father wanted to know… and with the deepest gesture of sympathy and sadness for me – though he never spoke a word – he just shook his head back and forth sideways as if to say “I am so sorry... she is not coming back.” I will forever remember that sudden moment… it was like a sword piercing my heart! I went and put my arms around my wife to break the most horrific news to her. We wept profusely! Why? Why didn’t God honor my desperate plea?
My Pastor was already zooming to the scene after having learned of the emergency. On the way there he was praying
