Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise

“…O L ORD God of our fathers, are You not God in Heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever?” (2 Chronicles 20:6, 7) He called upon the name of God, reminding God of His faithfulness and promises to Israel. He placed the outcome of the battle into the hands of God – which is exactly the best strategy to do in any battle – even when the circumstances of the storm seem overwhelming to you! This is where true faith is developed and where ultimate dependency upon God can be exercised – it is the secret to releasing the power of Heaven! The necessity of true faith (in God), and not just having “faith in your Faith” is crucial in learning to overcome the trials and challenges of the world because the Word of God says: Their posture of heart before the Lord thus empowered God to move on their behalf! The Lord was about to do a mighty thing… To show Himself strong on behalf of hearts who showed themselves loyal to Him through faith and trust! The very power of God is released when you choose to seek the Lord, and place all of your trust in Him! The problem is that many times in harrowing situations, we tend only to give God a deposit (a down payment) of our faith rather than completely rendering the situation over to Him, while still “And this is the victory that has overcome the world even our faith.” (1 John 5:4)
