Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise

“O L ORD my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me, lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver. (Psalms 7:1-2)

You too have an adversary who goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he might devour. The strongest and most personal attacks often come from other Christians, which is commonly referred to as friendly fire . The worst response we can make is to harbor the impact of such vicious and devastating assaults inside ourselves and let an offense grow in our heart. If we do, that wound can become infected and mature from resentment and hurt - into bitterness! Unforgiveness is poison to our soul. It blocks God from moving in ways where He could otherwise bring healing and deliverance to you in the situation (storm). The Bible is clear:

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14-15)

There is a very powerful lesson to be learned here concerning offenses . Developing and fortifying this very area of our hearts is paramount to spiritual growth, and will determine what yield of fruit we will bear in lives. Just look at what the Scriptures say about this:

“Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that
