Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise

But to the jubilant crowds - that fragrance was the aroma of life and victory! So to the one it was the aroma of death, and to the other it was the aroma of life! We too are being led to our death (from self and dead works) into that victory our Commander-in-Chief, Jesus Christ won at the cross! On one we hand there is the aroma of death to self – but on the other hand, there is also a sweet aroma (fragrance) of life eternal unto the Lord, as ones who would stand victorious in His triumph! We have been captured (conquered) by His Love, and now we are being led forth as prisoners of the Lord Jesus Christ (through voluntary surrender and obedience). As we die to self, we are being “ chained to His chariot ” in obedience and being led forth in His triumph (many will also be led even further into martyrdom).

“Precious in the sight of the L ORD is the death of his saints.” (Psalms 116:15)

God wants to diffuse (release) the fragrance of Christ from us! Our death (obedience) brings the life of Christ to others!

“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-12)
