Then in their corporate gathering, Deborah, the prophetess beginning to sing under a true prophetess anointing, declaring the prophetic heart of God and His plans for battle! In the Song of Deborah , she opens up that incredible song with a powerful declaration of what happens when leadership stands up together, and unite the people of God get behind what the Lord is saying and doing. It would have so fit this scenario! The opening lines of the song of Deborah are:
“When leaders lead in Israel, When the people willingly offer themselves, Bless the L ORD !” (Judges 5:1, 2)
Then Deborah begins to sing about the faithfulness of God and His preservation of Israel in previous times… It was just like David did in his dark night “I will encourage myself in the Lord” (David recounted the mighty deeds and victories the Lord had brought him through, demanding his soul take note, and be refreshed in God’s power and faithfulness which he experienced continually throughout his life).
