Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise

Work on your waterways! Dig! Dig! Dig through praise! Set apart daily times of dedicated worship unto the Lord. Go back through all of your worship mp3’s, cd’s (even cassettes!) and compile a stack of the deepest, most intimate and meaningful worship songs you have ever flowed with God in. You can tap back into the River of God, so don’t give up! Press in! Continuous praise changes everything. It is your life-spring and your well-spring ! Praise must be your life’s priority! Everything else will begin to flow again eventually. Stay immersed in Christ! Don’t let the rocks do your job (praise)! As you are faithful to do this daily , the Lord will cause the water of His Spirit to begin to flow again and soften potential areas of hard ground in your heart. Many times when the Lord brings you into a season of dryness or a wilderness, He is after something and is wanting to expose areas of hardness of heart, areas that have become (or have always been) unfruitful, unproductive, and barren! His long term objective is always to cultivate those areas so that He can turn it into good soil in your heart, a place where He can plant what He desires in those areas! It always requires co-operation from us in working with Him to accomplish this. Extended times of praise will greatly help this process along! As you begin to do business with God afresh in these areas, sing into the midst of His unfolding work in your heart. One of my favorite songs concerning this process is: “But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” Luke 19:40
