Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise

stress I had ever known in my life. I woke up with it, I carried it all day, and I went to bed with it while tossing and turning!

I knew it was only a matter of weeks before I would be asked to vacate the building and that our employees, who hadnt’ been paid for 2 ½ months were going to walk. I was doing my best to remain cool under fire, but I was in a crucible! Even back then I knew about praise in the midst of the storm. My wife and I had taken our huge pile of bills, which completely covered our dining room table, and we built an altar unto the Lord with them. We chose to praise the Lord over our bills as best we could, even dancing before the Lord around them, praising His name and declaring His faithfulness. We chose to worship God in the midst of that storm, even though our souls felt weak and anguished. Because we chose to worship, (even as fragile as we were), the Lord clothed us in a beautiful garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness! We were determined to trust God! Our spirit was alive, but our body and soul felt so beat up and depleted! With no relief yet in sight, again I had to call in our employees “I know you are expecting to get paid today, but I am sorry to tell you, that we do not have any money to pay you.” This time though they told me “Look we truly believe in the vision of this company, but we have bills to pay too, so unless something breaks in the next few weeks we are going to have to leave the company, so we are giving you our two week notice.” I will never forget that Friday, my hope felt crushed. And of course, who shows up at this most opportune time? That’s right, my adversary, the devil… taunting me. “Well you just had to try to be the big man of faith didn’t you? This
