c. Paul’s doxology: vss.25 -27
1. Give God the glory (praise) who is going to cause you to stand
firm in your faith… according to (or by means of) the gospel
Paul preaches (the Kerugma : proclaimed gospel) …. faith
alone as our means of justification.
2. This gospel that was silent (a hidden mystery) for so long but
has now been revealed through the prophets and their writings
as God commanded them to do (scripture was not m an’s
idea) … so now all nations and peoples may believe on and
obey God’s Salvation in Jesus Christ.
3. To the only wise God (who brought all this together in his
power and wisdom) be glory in Jesus Christ forever! Amen
Conclusion: Paul did make it to Roman but not in the way he had hoped… he came in chains and after suffering a great ship wreck (Acts 27-28). In this letter Paul had clearly established his credentials to impart the “full gospel blessing” to this Church. Romans is a powerful and essential biblical book clarifying the New Covenant we have in Jesus Christ. If you want to truly understand our salvation and sanctification in Christ Jesus, you must understand this book.
