ROMANS Study Guide

a. Paul begins showing that Jesus had to begin his ministry by

limiting himself to working with just the Jew - because of the

promises to the patriarchs (Rom.11:28) - Israel had “first rights of

acceptance” so to speak before God moved on to the Gentile Nations.

(Rom.1:16)

b. But this beginning with the Jews was to lead to the gospel going-

out to the Gentile Nations - Paul quotes several Old Testament

passages (Ps.18:49; 117:1; Isa.10:11) showing that God had

always intended to take His message out to the Gentile peoples

for their salvation. Vss.8-12

Rom 15:13 And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Rom 15:14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brothers, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
