of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The

decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of

them are righteous. They are more precious

than gold, than much pure gold; they

are sweeter than honey, than honey

from the honeycomb.

Let us examine briefly the life of David.

In examining the scriptures, we see that David

was divinely promoted because He remained in the

presence of God. Who was David? David was the

youngest child of Jesse, who took care of the sheep

for his family. In his days of shepherding, David

learned how to abide in God’s presence. His humility

in his journey promoted him to the palace where he

played his harp skillfully for King Saul. He perfected

the art of ministering to the king even when King

Saul demonstrated anger. This is the same David that

defeated Goliath when he learnt he was threatening

the Israelites daily. This young man used what he
