These qualities form the foundation of your leadership, and like any structure, a weak foundation compromises everything built upon it. Leadership development demands intentionality and effort. While shortcuts may seem appealing, they undermine the qualities that make leaders effective and sustainable over time. This chapter will explore why self leadership is non-negotiable and how skipping foundational steps in leadership development can result in weak, fragile, and ultimately ineffective leadership.
