Next Steps 2.0 - Moving To Maturity

When the writer to the Hebrews wrote to those had been Christians for some some, he encouraged them not to stop with the foundation or the basics of their faith, but they were to go on to perfection. The Christian life is a journey that moves from faith to faith. The goal is that the character of Jesus Christ be formed in us with the assistance of the Holy Spirit Whose job it is to lead and guide us into all truth. The writer to the Hebrews expressed it this way: Hebrews 6:1-3, NLT So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don't need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don't need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding. This booklet is designed to be a follow-up to Next Steps , Edition 1.0 where the primaary emphasis is on building a firm foundation for a strong Christian life. In this volume, we want to build on the foundaton that we laid in the previous study to not only secure the foundation that was laid but also to help establish the disciplines in our lives that can help us to move on to maturity in our Christian faith.
