Next Steps 2.0 - Moving To Maturity

We could call this the great exchange .

➢ We would receive His righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

➢ He would receive our punishment.

Isaiah 53:6, GNB All of us were like sheep that were lost, each of us going his own way. But the LORD made the punishment fall on him, the punishment all of us deserved. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, NIV For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Point to Ponder: “Based on what you know about Jesus, His pure relationship to the Father and His hatred for sin reflect on the scene described in Mark 14:33-36 where Jesus struggles with the idea of going to the cross and becoming our sin-bearer.”
