Next Steps 1.0 - Securing The Foundation

2. Hearers and doers receive special instruction and insight from the Lord.

Luke 6:27, NKJV But I say to you who hear…

Jesus has special instructions for those who have an ear to hear. He lets them in on His special secrets (1 Th. 5:4). As such they are protected from the winds of doctrine that blow on the earth. John 7:17, NKJV If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

3. Hearers and doers are considered Christ’s closest friends.

John 15:13-15, NKJV Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard fromMy Father I have made known to you. Abraham was call a friend of God (Jam. 2:23). We have that same opportunity to be a friend of God. We cannot be God’s friend or walk with God unless we are in agreement with His words and live our lives accordingly (Amos 3:3). 4. Hearers and doers are placed in a category with Christ’s highest and closest relationships.
