heart knowing that it had future importance. The favor of God and man is tied to the amount of wisdom Christ had. Joseph is not heard from again in any of the gospels. We cannot fully know the how the spiritual development of the Son of God took place. One of the accepted explanations of theology states, ‘the divinity that dwelt in him manifested itself to his humanity by degrees… in proportion to his capacity ; as the faculties of his human soul grew more and more capable.’ 6 And so it is with Christians today, we grow spiritually by degrees as our capacity to understand increases. Scripture indicates that there will never be an end to the process of knowing the unsearchable riches of Christ and his love for us.
