I Appeal To Caesar!

four unmarried daughters when he is not traveling in ministry.

Most of Philip’s evangelistic efforts have been along the Mediterranean seaboard. Philip has preached in every port city from Ashdod (Azotus) to Ceasarea and is famous for bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to Samaria (which incidentally took place approximately at the time when Saul of Tarsus began to arrest and harass the Christians).

A Gathering of Eagles

Paul had not met Philip before, but they have instant rapport: two of the Church’s great soul-winners! Actually, Paul’s (i.e. Saul’s) original purge of Christians is what drove Philip out of Jerusalem and up to Samaria! Philip was also a good friend of Stephen, the first martyr. Imagine the stories they exchanged! Philip’s four daughters are delightful young women, dedicated Christians and well known for their prayer and prophetic ministries. Approximately fifteen fervent, on-fire Christians are now gathered in Philip’s home, and they share their testimonies: fervent prayer is offered for the many requests. What a time of jubilant fellowship! On the second day, everyone is pleasantly surprised to have a Roman Centurion, his wife and two converts approach for a visit. It is non-other than Cornelius, the man whose household was the first group of Gentiles to receive the Holy Spirit and speak in the languages of the Holy Spirit.
