About the Author

Mike Herron has long been involved with the praise and worship movement that is affecting the world today. He has served the body of Christ as a pastor, prophet-teacher, a missionary ambassador, worship leader, composer of Christian music, author, playwright and as a recording artist. He is the author of a popular book on biblical wor- ship entitled: ‘Created for Worship’. His newest work is the two- volume: ‘Heart of A Psalmist’, an informing and in- spirational look at each of the Psalms and the influence they have upon the life of the worshiper. Mike began his full time Christian service as the worship pastor of City Bible Church (formerly Bible Temple) in Portland, Oregon in 1974 after graduating from Portland Bible College with an Associates Degree in Theology. He was ordained in 1979 and was the founding pastor of ‘Life Church’ in Salem, Oregon where he served from 1983 until 1995. He was the International Representative of ‘Ministers Fellowship International’, a worldwide ministers fel- lowship based in Portland, Oregon. He has traveled as a missionary to over 60 nations, ministering in churches, worship conferences, concerts, leadership gatherings and evangelism. He served as the CEO of Canzion Music in Houston, Texas from 2002-2005. Canzion is a major Spanish Chris- tian music company with a large network of Canzion Institutes, educating over 8,000 future leaders of the church in Latin America. During this time he was a pastor in the worship department of Lakewood Church in Houston, as- sisting Pastor Joel Osteen on a part-time basis. Mike graduated with a Master’s Degree in Practical Theology from Oral Roberts University in the spring of 2006. He was a Vice-President of ‘Integrity Music Latin’ in Mobile, Alabama from 2006-2010 and was responsible for developing the Spanish Worship Music Division. His artists and their projects were winners of Dove, Premios Arpa, Latin Grammy and Latin Billboard awards during those years. Mike has produced 6 CDs of original music includ- ing 3 piano works; a Broadway musical on the life of Ruth entitled; ‘Under His Wings’ and a worship album; ‘Father of All.’ His newest album released by Integrity Music, ‘ Wait on the Lord’, features music from the Psalms both in Spanish and English as well as a piano solo version. Mike travels throughout the world preaching the Good News of Christ, leading worship concerts, teaching sem- inars and speaking at a variety of events. Mike and his wife Marsha, have 3 children and 8 grandchildren and are members of Christ Church in Mobile, Alabama.
