God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power

God's Prophetic People

Old Testament time were very costly, so now the true anointing of the Holy Spirit will be costly. Gethsemane means oil press , which represents the costly suffering of Christ through which the holy anointing oil of the Spirit was provided for His Church. Today the Lord is pouring out His Holy Spirit over all flesh (Acts 2) and anointing a new breed of believers. He is pouring out His anointing oil on His Bride, transforming them into a prophetic people. This anointing oil is much like the three anointings David received long ago: • David was first anointed in the midst of his brethren (1 Sam.16:1-13). •David’s second anointing was as king over the house of Judah (2 Sam.2:4-11). •David’s third anointing was as king over all Israel (2 Sam.5:1-5). David is referred to as a prophet, priest, and king. So too will God’s prophetic people be. They will have prophetic, priestly, and kingly deposits given by the Holy Spirit. 1. Kingly anointing - 1 Samuel 16:1,12,13; Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 2:6; Revelation 1:6, 5:10 • The kingly anointing is that of authority and power. Believers are called and anointed to rule and reign with Christ Jesus. 2. Priestly anointing - Exodus 40; 2 Samuel 2:4,7,11; 1 Peter 2:5-9; Revelation 1:6, 5:10 • The priestly anointing is that of passion, purity and praise. It refers to the ability to consecrate the life to the Lord like the Old Testament priests did: vessels set apart for Holy use and to be worshipers offering sacrifices acceptable to the Lord. 3. Prophetic anointing - 1 Kings 19; 2 Kings 2; 1 Samuel 10; Matthew 16:16-17; Luke 4:18; Acts 2:17-21; 1 Corinthians 2:16, 14:1; Rev. 19:10 The following will illustrate this more accurately.
