God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power
God's Prophetic People
Chapter One
Kings, Priests, and Prophets
C urrently we are living in a time period labeled as the “Last Days.” This age is characterized as being hazardous, perplexing, painful, dangerous, and hard to deal with. The Apostle Paul describes this time period for us in 2 Timothy 3:1 9: But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. We are in an age when our society is barren from virtue and abounding with vices. Who will arise and take leadership? Who will arise and speak forth God’s truth? Who will arise and influence our generation toward godliness? God's prophetic people will arise, for they have been called, anointed, and empowered for such a time as this (Esther 4:14; Isaiah 60:1-7; Luke 4:18-19; Acts 1:8; 2:17-21; 1 John 2:27).
