A People of Prophetic Perspectives
W e are living in an age when knowledge and information have reached an all-time high. Never before in history has information been so readily accessible to all different age groups as today. Online publications, social media, and video communication have been pouring forth a tremendous amount of information. Unfortunately, with all this information there has also been a pouring forth of worldly, unbiblical theology and various humanistic viewpoints. This has left a generation void of true biblical perspective and true spiritual insight (1 Samuel 3:1). Yet while this is taking place, God is pouring out His Spirit, restoring a people to true biblical and spiritual insight (Acts 2:17-18), giving them the divine perspective needed to fulfill His purpose. God's prophetic people are those who, through studying God's Word (Romans 12:2), and spending time in God's presence (Psalms 24 and 42), have received divine prophetic perspective, allowing them not only to understand the times they live in, but also to know what they should do (1 Chronicles 12:32). You might be asking yourself, “Why is it so important that I develop and maintain a prophetic perspective?” Here are some answers to this crucial question. First , a prophetic perspective gives you essential insight as to when your ship is ready for servicing. We often don’t realize that at different times in our Christian lives we need times of refreshing and repair. Ocean liners are periodically in the dry docks or different ports getting serviced. The barnacles which slow the vessel’s pace are removed. Necessary upgrades are made. This is a needed time in all Christian lives. We must at times take time off to be with the Lord, allowing Him to inspect our vessel and make necessary adjustments and
