God And His Word - A Question And Answer Approach To Understanding The Bible
chronology. He dates Adam at 4004 B.C., the Flood at 2348 B.C., Abraham's birth at 1996 B.C., the Exodus at 1491 B.C., and Solomon's Temple at 1012 B.C. It is very difficult to give exact dates, based on the chronological notices in the Bible. There is difference of opinion among Bible scholars, especially concerning the earlier dates. We have adopted the following general dates, and most Bible students are in approximate agreement: Adam's Sin, about 4000 B.C.; the Flood, about 2500 B.C.; Abraham, about 2000 B.C.; the Exodus, about 1500 B.C.; David, about 1000 B.C.; destruction of Jerusalem 586 B.C.
