The Church and the Tribulation (Zondervan, 1973).This classic book touting a posttribulation position is now out of print, but Gundry has updated his material and added some arguments in a new book, First the Antichrist (Baker, 1997), that appeals to the lay leader. • Katterjohn, Arthur. The Tribulation People (Creation House, 1975). • Ladd, George E. The Blessed Hope (Eerdmans, 1956). Ladd be lieved that the great Tribulation is still future and that it must occur before the Rapture and second advent of Christ (as pects of the same event). • Mounce, Robert H. The Book of Revelation: The New Interna tional Commentary on the New Testament (Eerdmans, 1977). • Payne, J. Barton. Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy (Harper & Row, 1973). Barton believes in imminency, a premillennial Second Coming and a posttribulational point of view that spiritualizes the Tribulation. • Reese, Alexander. The Approaching Advent ofChrist (Marshall, Morgan & Scott, 1937). Reese presented one of the most comprehensive defenses of posttribulationism. He believed that the Church is the true Israel and includes saints of all ages. Well-Known Historic Premillennialists. G. R. Beasley-Murray, W. J. Erdman, Frederic L.
