The Bible is divided into the Old Testament, written before the coming of Jesus Christ, and the New Testament written after His ascension into Heaven. 2 Corinthians 3:14, 16. 3. HOW MANY MEN DID GOD USE IN WRITING THE BIBLE? Approximately 44 writers were used by God in the course of twenty centuries to write the Bible. Jeremiah 36:18; Galatians 6:11; 2 Thessalonians 3: 17. 4. SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THE BIBLE: There are 1189 chapters in the Bible; 919 in the Old Testament; 260 in the New Testament. The longest chapter is Psalms 119. The shortest chapter is Psalms 117 which is also the middle chapter of the Bible. The longest verse is Esther 8:9. The shortest verse, John 11:35.
