12. IF A MEMBER SINS OR TEACHES FALSE DOCTRINE, HOW SHOULD THE CHURCH DEAL WITH HIM ASSUMING THAT THE STEPS MENTIONED IN QUESTIONS 5 THROUGH 8 HAVE BEEN TAKEN? A. A member who falls into sin should be taken from among the church. 1 Corinthians 5:3-5; 2 Thessalonians 3:6. B. A member who teaches false doctrine should be rejected by the congregation. Titus 3:10; Romans 16:17; 2 John 10, 11. 13. WHEN THE CHARGE OF HERESY (FALSE TEACHING) IS BROUGHT AGAINST A CHURCH MEMBER, TWO THINGS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED: A. Consider if the one concerned is wrong due to the fact that he is not fully instructed or misapprehends the meaning of the Scripture. Note: Acts 18:26. B. Consider if it is doctrine that is heretical, Satanic in origin and accompanied by practices and doctrine that separates from fellowship with the Lord. 1 Timothy 6:3-5; 1:20; 2 Timothy 2:17, 18. 14. WHY IS A SINNING MEMBER DELIVERED TO SATAN? A sinning member is delivered unto Satan that he might be brought to repentance that he might be saved - that he might learn not to blaspheme. 1 Corinthians 5:5b; 1 Timothy 1:20b. 15. SHOULD A CHURCH MEMBER, WHO HAS BEEN RESTORED, MAKE A PUBLIC CONFESSION OF SIN? The Scripture does not substantiate this. Detailed public confession of sin is morally and spiritually hurtful to all, especially when just a few people are involved. If it is something of major consequence that involves the entire
