God And His Word - A Question And Answer Approach To Understanding The Bible

B. The enemy of the Spirit of God that wars against the inner man. Romans 8:7; 7:22-25.

12. WHAT THE PURPOSE FOR THE LAW OF SIN?

The purpose for the law of sin is to prove to us the sufficiency of the grace of God. Without the law of sin, we never would see our need for God or would we be able to fight the good fight of faith that makes us true soldiers of the cross. 2 Corinthians 12:9; 1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Peter 2:9. The only way we can overcome the Law of Sin is by being sanctified and by putting on the whole armour of God so that we can withstand the temptations of the law of sin. Romans 13:12-14; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. 14. IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE DELIVERED FROM THE LAW OF SIN? It will happen, but we cannot be delivered from the Law of Sin as long as we are in this mortal body flesh. God has put this law into our bodies in order to perfect the soul by temptation. At the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, this body will be laid aside and the Law of Sin will be laid aside with it. Then we shall be clothed with a new house from Heaven and have sinless perfection. 1 Corinthians 15:51-53. The reward of the faithful who resist the Law of Sin in their bodies is power from God to make them effectual witnesses, a crown of life and life everlasting with our Lord in His Kingdom. Romans 8:18; Philippians 3:14; 2 Timothy 4:7, 8. 13. HOW CAN WE OVERCOME THE LAW OF SIN? 15. WHAT IS THE REWARD OF THE FAITHFUL?
