sounded so ideal and wonderful. As he walked around the colony he was repulsed. His perception was they were humans living like monkeys. This definitely was not paradise. His experience actually became part his journey back to God. An attempt at vulnerability and openness by living as a nudist is futile. You can't just deny that sin exists. It will rise up and take control every time. Our real problem is a loss of connection with our heavenly Father. Only God has the ability to truly cover our shame. As our creator, He knows us better than we know ourselves. He alone has the power necessary to give us freedom. For Adam and Eve, God created a covering for their shame by making garments of skins. This was the first recorded shedding of blood. It was a prophetic picture of what Jesus the Messiah would need to do to cover the sins of the world. The people of Israel were given a wonderful gift from God. Through the temple rituals they could make a blood sacrifice that would forgive their sins. The people had a place to go find a covering. But a person would have to go back again and again, because new sins would foul up that needed covering. Christ made a way to do more than just cover our sins. Through the shedding of His own blood, he paid the price once and for all. In Him there is never again the need for shedding blood for sins. He didn't just cover our shame, He annihilated it. So why do we continue to cover-up? Even though we've been forgiven, we're afraid to be exposed. It is fear that distances us from other people. There are so many ways mankind attempts to cover their shame. We try to look good on the outside. We wear the right cloths. We have the right haircut. We have all the right lingo. Hoping that people will love us and accept us. Good works can become a cover-up. If we are working hard so
