Forty Days Full - An Invitation To Real Life
doctrine to teach a believer that your nature is inherently wicked, that you can't trust your heart or that we are helpless against sin. The book of Romans declares that we are dead to sin. How dead is dead? Our bad experiences don't write our doctrine. When truth is revealed we must line up our lives to the truth! When I see a contradiction, it's time to start declaring the truth! The common belief among the Jews when Jesus arrived on the earth was that sin was contagious. The Pharisees would never be caught dead in the company of known sinners. If a leper came in their vicinity they would cry out "Unclean, unclean!" Jesus purposefully spent time with known sinners. He was called a friend of sinners. He laid his hands-on lepers. Jesus came to demonstrate that holiness is more powerful than sinfulness. ‘Through Jesus blood and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, holiness can reign in our mortal bodies.’ Consider the fact that there has been no earthly temple for the Judeo-Christian faith since 70AD. Jesus promised it would be destroyed and for nearly 2000 years it hasn't been rebuilt. This is not a coincidence!! The New Covenant is a temple made of human flesh. This is another evidence separating us from the Old Covenant commands. We don't please Jesus by obeying the commands of our old slave master (Rom. 7). I've heard many people pray this Old Testament prayer, "God, rend the heavens and come down...Please!" Jesus says, "I did!" Too many revival prayers are begging God to do what He has already done. Revival happens when we realize what we already have. We are a walking revival! We are the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
