Forty Days Full - An Invitation To Real Life

hesitate because of fear. "He may reject me like others have." "He may withhold love because of my failure." This is not His way. He is the Father in the story of the prodigal son. When you have gone your own way and made a mess of things, He's waiting. He's looking for you. He's longing for you. His heart of love leaps with joy when he sees you turn toward Him. Much of my life I struggled with measuring my performance with God's love. If I was doing well, God loved me more. If I was doing poorly His love was withheld. Jesus put an end to that tug of war. We have access to the Father through the blood of Jesus. He is in constant intercession for us as he sits at the right hand of God. Every day you wake up His love is pointed toward you. Before you do anything, His favor in upon you. You don’t have to prove yourself to Him. You’re redeemed by His Son, Filled with His Spirit and under the Father’s blessing. Stop trying to measure up! To give His love, I must know His love. His kind of love is formed in us as we receive and believe what He says is true. I cannot give what I don’t have. Every other fruit of the Spirit flows out of love. It is the foundation of a life lived in the Spirit. Without a sure foundation of love, we will try to produce fruits of the Spirit based upon human effort. It won’t be real, and it won’t be edible. My confidence in His love, allows Agape to flow out of my life to others!

Make a positive vow. Stop trying to get love and begin to give love. Offer expressions of kindness, thoughtfulness or service.
