FIVE SMOOTH STONES — The Five Ascension Gifts in the Heavenly Shepherd’s Bag

A word cannot truly be judged before it is given. True prophecy that flows from the inner spirit (inspiration i.e. In Spirit Action) usually cannot be given to a screener first (as opposed to a dream, visions, revelation or word of knowledge). It must be allowed to flow from the spirit of the person. Usually it is necessary to know the character, reputation and heart of a person delivering a prophecy as it is their spirit that is being released to prophesy. Discernment should be exercised by the Gate Keeper in light of substance and timing of the word. All prophecy must be judged (discerned) by a prophetic leader or designee on behalf of the corporate group and individually by everyone. Once a prophetic word is delivered, if nothing is said by way of explanation or interpretation, then by default the leadership is judging that the word is true. If the leadership is not in agreement with the word, they must make this known, with love and grace, as soon as appropriate. It is appropriate for the leadership to ask that terms such as “ God told me ” not be used. It is acceptable in certain meetings to request or even require people to write down their words and visions. In certain meetings there may be a public place to post these words for everyone’s edification. Keep in mind that under the wrong circumstances this may quench the spirit, but under the proper circumstance it will allow a release of the spirit. It is up to the leadership to discern this before the meetings begin. It must be determined how to handle the giving of “personal words.” Usually an announcement can be given that each person should judge any words brought to them. It should be made available for leadership to assist with judging words. It should be encouraged for these words to be recorded either electronically or in writing for future reference and to honor the legitimacy of the word being given.

2 Corinthians 13:1 “ This will be the third time I am coming to you ." By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established."

The character and ministry of the believer delivering the word should be taken into account. It does not make much sense to require a seasoned, respected prophet to submit to the same scrutiny as someone not at this level of experience. (Matthew 10:41).
