I glanced at the others who had come with him, and two of them looked very familiar, but it had been seventeen years since this phenomenon had happened to me in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They stated they had been with me in the prison also. We greeted each other with bear hugs and laughed. I realized that everyone was shouting and looking for explanations, and so I handed Nikolai the microphone and he began to explain in Russian, while my inter preter filled me in. He explained what he was doing there and began to preach and shout for joy. The holy glory of God's presence suddenly swept through the entire crowd and everyone began to shout and praise God so fervently I thought the place was going to explode for the power surge we were all experiencing. It then exploded with what seemed like a rushing mighty wind and tongues of fire. Everyone was suddenly baptized in the Holy Spirit and began to speak in oth er tongues and prophecy to one another. There was such excitement and zeal for the Lord that the roar of voices became deafening. People were falling down, swooning, staggering and almost hysterical for the joy and ecstatic feeling of the power that was filling the atmosphere in the room and everyone in it. This outpouring was making some feel weak and unable to stand in the glory presence of the Holy Spirit. Everyone present was full of peace and joy, with excitement. We joined them in rejoicing for an extended period of time, twenty to thirty minutes, shouting because of the great things the Lord was doing. Afterward many attested to deliverance from op pression and to receiving physical healings. It was like the day of Pentecost in the second chapter o fActs with Peter the apostle quot ing Joel the prophet. We were living it again, right here in Moscow in 1991.
