During the next few weeks the executions were the talk and focus of most believers in the prison. The way they had been executed was brutal. Some prisoners were inflamed with anger and outrage. Others were inflamed with God's presence and with zeal. Others were just paral y z ed with fear. Some didn't care. The ignition of revival fires still burned in the hearts of those with singleness of devotion and a love for Jesus. Instead of decreasing, testimonies increased. In some areas o f the prison, according to the re ports we received, people were being born again. We were excited and unafraid, but also wise as serpents and harmless as doves. The boldness and courage o fthe Lord were on many in a humble and deeply intense way. Miracles were happening and we received reports of the presence of God's glory in different places. The core ofeight was seeing many baptisms in the Holy Spirit. We prayed and prophesied about this. God gave us many words of encouragement and dreams and visions to this end. We believed God was going to take over the entire prison population. We were praying for the guards and the officials to come into a saving knowledge of Jesus even though it could fail and we could come to our end. The unsaved were amazed that we did not panic or go into hiding or begin to fear. However, the persecution continued in many ways. Suddenly, early one cold sunny morning, I was singled out. The Judas led the armed guards right to me as I was walking through a bar racks. They were lying in wait and were suddenly all over me, knocking me down, hitting me and putting me in handcuffs. An official was there who spoke English. He blurted out with a strong Russian accent, his red face close to my face, "Who are you? You are a spy sent to get secrets from scientific and military prisoners! How did you infiltrate our security to get in here? How long have you been here? How have you remained hidden? Who are your accomplices?" In rage his questions came as fast as he could talk, without 61
