Suddenly we looked up and noticed eight men standing in positions along the walkway at the top of the wall. They were stand ing five feet apart and were commanded to step up onto the wall all at the same time. They had their backs to us. Ropes were around their necks and their hands were bound behind their backs. They were not hooded. An armed guard stood facing each one of them. In the, yard a line o f armed guards marched forward and stood in front of all the prisoners and lined up facing this wall. A high-ranking officer addressed everyone in the yard with a microphone from outside a gun tower. One of the eight interpreted for me what was happening, whispering to avoid detection. This of ficer ridiculed the godly people who were about to die for their high crimes and threatened all others who dared to commit any and all acts of treason against the state. He gave a warning to those who promoted these divisive philosophies of foolishness. 1his was an at tempt to intimidate all of us and to warn that the same results were in store for them as for these weak-minded and mentally defective enemies o f the people's government. They would meet the same fate!

I sensed the exhilarating power of God so strongly that I felt like a lion on the loose one minute and found myself battling with wonder ings and fears the next.

He finished his speech and then quickly ordered the solders standing behind each prisoner to fire on anyone in the crowd who 59
