away from me. He paused in his step and we sat staring at each other. He stayed for a short while and then walked back into the trees. At the end of my time on the beach that morning, I got up to leave and some mountain blue jays flew directly in front of me in descent from a tall pine (there was significance in this from a previous experience with Father God). I lingered in this moment as I watched them and enjoyed the love of my Father. My heart was full of gratitude to our good Father, Daddy God, for this gift of set-apart time and these “kisses” from Heaven.

Later, as I was thinking about these moments and again talking with the Lord, Matthew 8:20 came to me:

And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

I am aware that this passage speaks about the cost of following Jesus, but Holy Spirit opened my eyes to see another layer of this scripture that I had not seen before. My heart felt the deep yearning of the Lord to be among us and with us. My heart ached for Him… With tears, I found myself patting my chest where my heart is and saying, " Lord, You can lay Your head here ...You can find Your resting place here. You can make Your home here. Your dwelling place here..."

And then these words came…

“A people are being restored to the Lord. The Lord is being restored in a people.”
