Or, as the Living Bible states it:

Make me understand what you want; For then I shall see your miracles.

Did Jesus Need to Pray? One of the great mysteries I pondered in my teen-age years was, why, if Jesus was God, did He need to pray to God? I have since discovered that greater minds than mine have wrestled with the same question through the ages. My early imagining of Jesus Christ was that He could not help but do everything right since He was so totally shielded by divine power. It was as though some power- ful, prophetic inspiration rested upon Him. He could not sin, and His teaching was programmed directly from the Father in heaven. I see the life of Jesus more clearly now. It still remains a mystery, but now I do not overlook the importance of His humanity. Jesus chose to enter our world by sharing our mortality, by becoming one of us, and being like us. This is a wonderful part of the redemption story.
