Jesus Prays for Me J J esus has prayed for me, and He still prays for me. What a thought! As a child I envisioned Jesus, the mediator, presenting to the Father all of my little, material needs. Sometimes halting, sometimes embar- rassed, I would struggle with what Jesus was actually saying to the Father about me and my needs. As a youth I wondered if somehow heaven was like some gigantic telephone switchboard with Jesus frantically plugging in certain calls to the Father's throne while holding other calls. This whole business of Jesus presently “interced- ing” for me was perplexing, to say the least. I could understand that Jesus did pray for me during His earthly ministry, but it was difficult for me to relate Jesus’ inter- ceding with prayer in the present.
